NALDIC
the UK’s national subject association for EAL
NALDIC Trustee / Director & Secretary
I have been a member of NALDIC since attending their Summer School for EAL Coordinators at Homerton College, Cambridge. It was such a great course, at fantastic value, that I later joined NALDIC, volunteered to support their committees and have attended many events since.
Through volunteering and acting as EAL Project Officer, the consultant for the UK’s national subject association for EAL, I have taken on a variety of endeavours, including:
The review, redesign, restructure and launch of the new website
Facilitating NALDIC and external groups and networks, both local and nationwide, including the Co-convening of NALDIC's Independent Schools SIG
Supporting the planning and running of NALDIC events, including the annual conference
Photographing and videoing events
Administrative Audit
Supporting, updating and producing training and information resources and publications, including:
Writing about EAL learners and Second/Additional Language Acquisition for GL Assessment
Producing a training video and workbook for Ofsted about EAL
Writing for EAL Journal
Associate Editor of EAL Journal
At the AGM in 2018, I was elected to the NALDIC Executive as a Trustee and Director of the association. In my second term now, I serve as NALDIC’s Secretary and sit on the Executive Committee and other NALDIC Teams.
